Chew’s Egg is delighted to announce a special new partnership that brings together two

beloved Singapore icons: Chew’s Egg and the Singapore Zoo’s Fancy Poultry Exhibit.

These fluffy, flamboyant little personalities have long captured the hearts of visitors — silky

feathers, pom-pom crests, and adorable struts that look straight out of a children’s

storybook. Now, with Chew’s Egg officially adopting the Fancy flock, these charismatic

birds have gained a proud new family.

For us at Chew’s Egg, this adoption is more than a feel-good moment—it reflects our

deepest values. As one of Singapore’s leading local egg farms, we have always believed

that caring for animals begins with respect, responsibility, and empathy. While the Fancy

chickens at the Zoo are ornamental breeds rather than commercial layers, they represent

everything we love about poultry: gentle nature, unique beauty, and the quiet joy of

sharing our lives with animals. By supporting their care, we celebrate not just eggs but

the vibrant diversity of hens and the important roles they play in education and

conservation.

If you’ve ever visited the Singapore Zoo’s kampung-style exhibits, you’ll know exactly

why the Fancy flock is such a hit. Children love the fluffy Silkies that look like cotton balls

on legs. Adults laugh at the Polish chickens with their dramatic feather “helmets.” And

everyone has a soft spot for the Frizzles, whose curled feathers give them an irresistibly

quirky charm. These birds are natural ambassadors—inviting visitors to pause, notice,

and appreciate the beauty and personality of poultry up close.

We see the Fancy chickens as a playful, heartwarming starting point for conversations

about animal welfare, responsible farming, and Singapore’s journey toward stronger food

security. This partnership is also deeply personal for us. Like many Singaporeans, our

team grew up visiting the Zoo — marvelling at animals, learning about nature, and

discovering the importance of caring for the world around us. Supporting the Fancy

chickens is our way of giving back to a place that shaped our childhoods and continues

to inspire future generations.

Ultimately, the Fancy adoption is a celebration of connection: between farms and

families, animals and people, food producers and the wider community. Every fluffy crest,

gentle cluck, and cheeky strut reminds us why kindness matters in farming—and in life.

So the next time you visit the Singapore Zoo, look out for our newly adopted feathered

stars. Give them a wave (and maybe a photo!). They’re now part of the Chew’s Egg family — and we couldn’t be more proud to support them.
