Lunar New Year With Chew's Egg

Lunar New Year always arrives with a certain kind of energy. The air feels different — full of

movement, reunions, and renewed hope. At the farm, Lunar New Year doesn’t come with

fireworks or lion dances, but with something just as meaningful: early mornings, steady routines,

and quiet moments of gratitude.

As families across Singapore gathered around reunion tables this Lunar New Year, eggs played

their familiar role — symbolising new beginnings, fertility, and abundance. For us at Chew’s Egg,

it is humbling to know that our eggs are part of these celebrations, tucked into home-cooked

dishes, shared stories, and traditions passed down through generations.

Lunar New Year at the farm is business as usual — but in the best way possible. Our hens don’t

take holidays, and neither does our responsibility to care for them. While the rest of Singapore

slows down a little, the farm keeps moving to a rhythm we know by heart: feeding, checking,

collecting, cleaning. There’s comfort in that consistency. It’s a reminder that good food begins

long before it reaches the kitchen, shaped by patience and daily care.

This season also gives us a chance to pause and reflect. The start of a new lunar year is about

renewal — letting go of what no longer serves us and carrying forward what matters. For us, that

means recommitting to the values that guide our work: animal welfare, freshness, and producing

eggs we’re proud to put our name on. No shortcuts, no compromises — just honest farming, day

after day.

We’re especially grateful for the growing community that continues to support local farms.

Choosing locally produced eggs may seem like a small decision, but collectively, these choices

help sustain Singapore’s food resilience and keep local agriculture alive. Every tray of eggs you

bring home supports not just our farm, but the broader ecosystem of people working behind the

scenes to grow food responsibly on our island.

As February unfolds, the festive decorations slowly come down, but the spirit of the new year

stays with us. At the farm, it lives on in every sunrise, every healthy hen, and every egg collected

with care. We carry that Lunar New Year intention forward — not just for fifteen days, but for the

months ahead.

From our farm to your home, thank you for welcoming Chew’s Egg into your celebrations. Here’s

to a year of nourishment, resilience, and shared abundance — one egg at a time.
